We Believe That…
replacing missing teeth is important for oral health
Dental implants can help you restore your self confidence. We believe at the Meyer Dental Group that you are denying yourself the right to smile if you have so many missing teeth that you are afraid to open your mouth. We suggest you fill those gaps with dental implants, topped with a tooth colored crown and your smile will soon be restored.
Having a great smile can really improve your self-esteem and confidence when in other people’s company and this can help to improve your overall health. We believe that making a difference to your health and happiness is as important to us as it is to you.
What are dental implants?
You may have heard of dentures as a way of concealing gaps in your teeth, but not implants. Dental implants are a far more reliable and aesthetic way of filling up those gaps and restoring your smile. Since dental implants are a permanent solution, you don’t have to worry about them slipping out as you may have to with dentures.
A strong post made of titanium is permanently fixed into your jawbone where the tooth is missing and on top of that an artificial tooth is bonded to the tip of the implant. We believe that a dental implant is the strongest way of replacing a lost tooth and it requires little maintenance and can last a long time, it also enables the function of the lost tooth to be fully recovered.
Are you a candidate for a dental implant?
Almost everyone can have a dental implant fitted as long as there is sufficient bone in the jaw that can take an implant. If you do lack sufficient bone for the procedure, a bone graft can be done to build up the area where the implant is to be fitted.
We at the Meyer Dental Group don’t believe there is anything difficult about fitting a dental implant. It’s just a question of being a little patient before you can show off your new smile.
You can fill a gap in your mouth and restore your smile
Once the titanium post has been screwed into place, it has to be left for a few weeks so that it can integrate with the bone. A temporary lightweight crown can be fitted while the healing process is underway. When the titanium post has set well into the bone, a permanent tooth colored crown can be fixed in place.
We believe the end result is the highlight of the dental implant fitting process and it gives us great joy to see our patients beam with happiness when the treatment has been finished.
