Q Are you accepting New Patients?

Q Do you accept my insurance?

A_As long as you have a dental PPO plan, you will most likely get reimbursement coverage for the excellent quality work done at Meyer Dental Group. PPO plans allow you to see any dentist you would like and will reimburse according to the dental plan chosen by you, created by your employer and your dental benefits plan provider. We are happy to assist in every way possible to maximize your yearly dental allowance.

Q Why can’t I have a cleaning done at my first visit?

A_For all patients over the age of 18, Dr. Meyer feels in order to best serve your individual needs, we need to perform a thorough examination of your mouth. No two patients dental needs are exactly the same – just as you would need to see your physician for a complete physical so they can best understand your body before performing any procedures, Dr. Meyer would like to do a complete “physical” of your mouth before scheduling which hygiene visit is best for you.

We are happy to try to accommodate your schedule as best as possible making all your visits convenient and enjoyable! This one extra step is our way to ensure we are providing you with the best, most ideal treatment that you deserve! A_Absolutely! If you are in pain or have a specific problem, please call us today. We will do whatever we can to find out how we can help you with your dental needs! Q My child has never been to your office, can I schedule a cleaning appointment?

A_We would love to provide your child(ren) with the best care that they deserve, and we go to great lengths to ensure their first dental experience is a positive and memorable one….memories that can last a lifetime! Q Do you offer teeth whitening?

A_At Meyer Dental Group, we perform several different types of whitening to meet your smile needs. We are very proud to offer top quality Professional In-Office Whitening for your ultimate bright smile in one single visit. For those on the go, we offer take-home whitening trays for daily or nightly use.

Q How much is a cleaning, filling, or other dental procedures?

A_Every patient is different on what is needed for them. Without seeing your specific need, it is hard to let you know the exact fee for your dental concern. Q Does Dr. Meyer do dental implants?

A_Yes! Dr. Meyer can perform most dental implant surgeries right here in our office without visits to a specialist. With the NewTomVGi CBCT 3D imaging system right in our office, we can find out if a dental implant is right for you. We will also give you a step by step appointment schedule and an estimated fee of your custom procedure before you leave.


Q What’s a same day crown?

A_Since 2006, Dr. Meyer has introduced one-day restorations (crowns, veneers and porcelain fillings) to minimize visits, messy impressions and anesthetic for patients! CEREC technology allows us to take camera images of your teeth, design and mill your dental restoration while you relax in our chair listening to music, reading a magazine or surfing the web on our office iPads. Q Does Dr Meyer specialize in orthodontics?

A_Yes! For over 20 years, Dr. Meyer continues to treat both adults and children’s orthodontic needs. Everything from clear aligner therapy (invisible braces) to traditional orthodontics to functional orthodontics helping patients who suffer from TMJ be relieved of pain. We are happy to reserve time for a complimentary consultation to determine which type of orthodontic treatment would be best for you.


Q How long have you been in Mount Prospect?

A_We have been in Mount Prospect since August 2018.

Before that, Dr. Thomas Meyer practiced dentistry on Broadway Street in Des Plaines since 1993. Before Dr. Tom’s time, his brother, Dr. Jim Meyer took over the Meyer Dental Group from his father, Dr. Gerald Meyer. The original Dr. Gerald Meyer established Meyer Dental Group in 1972 located on Lee Street in Des Plaines. Meyer Dental Group moved to Broadway in 1985 when Dr. Gerald Meyer retired and his son Dr. Jim Meyer took over. After Dr. Jim relocated to North Carolina in 1993, Dr. Tom Meyer took over the family business and has continued to provide top quality care to his patients since!
