Covid-19 Update

WHAT CHANGES WILL YOU SEE IN THE MEYER DENTAL GROUP APPOINTMENT?WHO NEEDS A SMILE NOW?VIDEO UPDATES

Practicing what we preach

Hi everyone! Dr. Tom here,

It’s hard to believe that it’s the middle of April and we have not been in the office for a month now – we greatly miss seeing our daily doses of smiles from all of you – our wonderful patients!

Just wanted to give a quick update to everyone- week to week we are certainly assessing the situation and my top priority is keeping the health and safety of my patients and my team.

COVID-19

We are still at this point only seeing emergency patients, but we are switching focus to hopefully be able to open back up and tend to all the needs of our patients by mid- May. If you have not been contacted yet to reschedule an existing appointment that was missed, know that we will be calling to get that rescheduled as soon as we can!

We will be working many extra days and hours in order to try to accommodate everyone that will need to be rescheduled and to address any new concerns and needs that have emerged while we have been closed.

In light of the current COVID situation, we will be implementing many new measures that we are asking all our patients to observe. Examples will be:

  • Pre screening of all patients 2 days prior to visit, including a checklist of questions based on health symptoms and condition, travel restrictions and quarantine adherence. Patients with any known risk factors would be asked to reschedule
  • Waiting in car until we confirm we are ready for you to come inside for your appointment, in order to reduce sitting time and amount of people in the office at any one time.
  • Signing a more detailed consent form, not only related to consent of the treatment being done, but also a COVID consent to treatment protocol.
  • Enhanced PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for both our dental team and you the patient.
After entering the office for your appointment, we will be asking all patients to immediately sanitize and wash their hands and perform a 1-minute swish with an oral disinfectant rinse.

Again, we can not stress enough that we are going to great lengths to ensure that your safety and well being will not be compromised at our dental office during this transition time of opening back up again. We recognize that this is a time of great uncertainty for everyone and we want to assure you that we CARE about each and every one of you and your oral health and systemic health is our priority!

Yours for Better Health,

Dr Tom and the entire Meyer Dental Group Team

Dear friends of The Meyer Dental Group

We need to share another very important update from our office. We are saddened to report that we will be voluntarily closing for a temporary time. Following the recommendations of The Illinois State Dental Society, our dental office will follow certain restrictions in order to avoid COVID-19 risks.

Dr. Meyer is being asked to treat only patients needing emergency dental procedures, while postponing “elective” dental procedures. This of course is a very difficult decision for us, because we care about the oral health and related overall systemic health of ALL our patients. Our dental team does not see any dental related procedures as “non-essential”.

But this decision is important in order to further protect our team members that we love dearly, their families, all of you-our wonderful patients, and your loved ones. You are all like family to us! We pray for everyone at this time that this temporary “break in the action” will help reduce the spreading of the COVID-19 virus, keep people safe and healthy, and allow us to get back to treating and caring for the people we love so much at The Meyer Dental Group.

At the present time, we have made the decision to cancel all patients through March 29th. We have patients who are scheduled for Monday March 30th, and we will certainly be reevaluating the situation, and the feasibility of opening back up for that Monday, as we get closer to that date. Should we need to cancel further, we will reach out to all scheduled patients by Friday, March 27th.

Although we will be out of the office, you can still call the office at 847-827-6290, or Dr. Tom’s cell phone directly at 847-494-9250, or use the Send Us a Message button and we will get back to you as soon as we possibly can.

God bless you all, please adhere to the recommendations being made by the CDC regarding social distancing, and stay healthy!!

We hope to see your smiling faces all very soon!!
